Nova gasped quietly before quickly hiding fully behind the tree, oh no… She couldn’t let him see her, she couldn’t let him know that she was alive, if he did come near her && talk to her; She’d put on a British accent && act like Saraya, they did look alike after all. Nova began to walk away && prayed that Colby wouldn’t follow her, she walked in a fast pace, she’d run if she had to. She didn’t want to seem suspicious but it was too late for that, she couldn’t let anyone know that she was alive, especially Colby. He’d probably be mad at her for making him emotional && thinking that she was dead… She just couldn’t go through that, knowing that Colby would hate her if he found out.
With narrowed eyes, Colby took a step forward with a bite of his lip. It couldn’t be, could it? Nova was dead. With another step, he ends up biting the inside of his cheek before letting out a breath and shaking his head. In all seriousness, it was probably just Saraya, though, why she was hiding was beyond him. Coming to that realization, Colby turned around and began walking away, his heart heavy and in the bottom of his stomach.
Dante let out another sigh, not taking his comment to heart. ❝ It’s up to you, Colby… ❞ He continued, turning away from him. ❝ Either believe that she’s really gone, or; Believe that she’s still with you, in your dreams, your soul, your heart… I think that’s what she would’ve wanted. ❞ Dante finished before leaving. The Anoai’s had more faith than most, Joe && Dante mainly, though he hated to keep a secret from Colby; He had to play the part… For Nova.
Colby frowned as the Samoan walked away before scowling and shaking his head. There was no point in chasing after Dante, not when he felt like his entire heart was breaking. It was a feeling he didn’t know, a feeling he had never known. He didn’t like the feeling, didn’t want to feel it. With a shiver going through his body, the Armenian frowned before looking around the field and narrowing his eyes at the person behind a tree. Stepping close, he bit on his bottom lip, tilting his head in thought.
❝ None of us could’ve done anything, it was no one’s fault. ❞ Dante assured him, even though that this was all a skit, every time he looked at that casket; He couldn’t bare to stare at it with his niece’s name on it. ❝ – She’s not really gone… Her spirit still remains with us, as long as we remember her; She’s with us. ❞ Dante sighed before he looked back at Colby. ❝ – && I know that you’ll never forget her. ❞
Colby found himself getting angrier and angrier the more Dante spoke. He found himself shaking his head and biting the inside of his cheek, trying not to say something he’ll regret on a day like today. “Bullshit like that – ‘she’s with us’–” He scoffs, shaking, “Is not helpful in any fuckin’ way possible, Dante.”
Nova let out a sigh && decided to leave, she didn’t want to be seen by anyone. Everyone was so emotional but… She didn’t think Colby would be so phased by this. Nova hated seeing him like that, but she couldn’t do anything… Not in this situation. She waited in the van for the rest of her family && started to think… Was this such a good idea after all?
Dante, Joe’s twin brother, approached Colby. Noticing how he was the only one left standing near the casket, no matter what he knew about the situation; He couldn’t help but feel bad for Colby. Dante placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. ❝ Hey… ❞ He whispered. ❝ – You gonna be okay? ❞
Colby eyed Dante warily, never really getting along with him for some reason or another before shrugging nonchalantly. “How do you think I’m doing?” He answers eventually, walking away from the casket with a sad shake of his head, “I just lost my best friend, and I hate knowing that there wasn’t anything I could’ve done to save her.”
Nova Anoaì. Killed in a car accident. The perfect plan, she had told her family && they seemed to play along with her idea, her life was becoming… Stressful. Nova wanted to live a normal life, sure her plan may seem a little much but at least people would forget her after awhile && then she could live happily.
Nova watched her own funeral from the outside gate of the cemetery behind a tree, she noticed a few people there, Nichole Garcia && Brianna Monique, John Cena, Randal Orton, Mark Calaway, even Brock Lesnar was there to pay his respect. But the only who stood out from them all; Was dear Colby Lopez, she’s never seen him so… Sad. Her family put on a pleasant act, but her sister seemed to take it more seriously, poor little thing.
It was depressing to watch, what she was doing might seem selfish && she didn’t think about how it would effect others, but she’d do anything to live normally without a crowd of people trying to get her autograph or picture… She hated that life. Nova wanted a new one.
He couldn’t believe the fact that Nova was dead. They were close friends – he always thought of her as his best friend, and now she was dead. Colby didn’t know how he could continue without his best friend. There was a pang in his heart, and something even worse settling in his stomach. Something he couldn’t name, though.
He feels something weird, and he looks around, not seeing anything before he looks back at the casket. His best friend is gone. Colby doesn’t know what to feel, not anymore, and as he stares at Nova’s family, he can’t help but wonder why they seem so damn calm. Shouldn’t they be more upset?
With a sigh, Colby realizes the funeral is over and takes a step back, feeling weird once more and frowning, turning his head everywhere to find the reason why he feels so uncomfortable.
