“Boss woman! What can I do for ya today?” He asks, putting the weights down with a grunt before looking at
his boss curiously.

[Text: Seth]; It’s not the same without you around here. Feels like it’s been so long.[Text: Seth]; Hows the injury coming along?
[Text: Seth]; What?
[Text: Seth]; Oh right. Yes. That’s unfortunate. I’m sure it’ll be fine in no time and you’ll be back by SummerSlam. Right?
[📨 hot boss - stephanie]: I’m certainly hoping so.
[📨 hot boss - stephanie]: I miss being around the company, really.

“I’m glad you are,” Stephanie replies without hesitation. “There’s something not quite right about you being on the shelf.” Clearing some stray hairs to press them behind her ear, the older woman takes a seat and invites him to do the same. “So how are things going, recovery wise?”
“Oh, tell me about it. I’ve been going absolutely mad while my knee’s been healing up. Jeeze, I don’t know how Paul handled this way back when.” He responds with a growl, sitting on the seat and sighing as he relaxed. “Good. I’m ahead of the schedule, thank god.”
“Roman Reigns of course. The only reason you betrayed was because of the Authority Rollins. We’d still be just as strong if you weren’t around. Unfortunately? Well, I see that time off spent recuperating is….making you see things differently?” she asked with an eyebrow quirked. “Oh please, we don’t need you anymore.”
“You can damn well believe that Reigns would have never allowed himself to be manipulated the way I was, Stephanie. That’s why you chose me, and don’t think for one second you would still be around and strong if I hadn’t joined you.”
“Is it though? I mean would you have even had that opportunity without the Authority? I think not,” she chuckles, smirking at him still. “We both know you did what you were told. Most of the time at least.”
“And just who would you have wanted instead? We both know that if it wasn’t for me, you and your so-called Authority would have gone nowhere after my betrayal. You needed me just as much as I unfortunately, needed you!”
“You know, I wouldn’t sound so derisive about being a ‘little lackey’. Not when its won you the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Surely that’s what was best for business, wasn’t it?” She asked with a smirk, eyebrow raised at him.
“At the end of the day, I won that title, not being a ‘little lackey’ and it’s something we both know.” He snarls, fists clenching at his side. “
“Ha, I actually doubt that very much. That’s not true at all. The type of business I like is the business that’s best for the company. And he is not best. Though, I don’t see why I’m explaining myself to you… Oh Rollins, you’re not as good as you think you are. That’s concern I see.”
“It’s not concern,” He mumbles petulantly, shaking his head and scowling before looking back at his boss. “Why ishe not best for business? Because he doesn’t follow your rules like a little lackey?”
“You’re the one who brought it up,” she reminds him. Soon she’s looking him over. “So what can I do for you Colby? Shouldn’t you be swinging off of bars to catch a 200-pound weight as you jump down?” Stephanie joked, but she couldn’t deny his work ethic.
“I’m not really avoiding the topic either,” He responds sardonically before he nods his head and lets out a breath. “I should be, but I wanted to take a small break to watch the show tonight.”
“A handle?” She chuckles. “Should I get a tea cozy out?” Stephanie gave him a sweet smile.
“That’s a blanket, right?” He smirks, raising an eyebrow. “Would he even want one?”
